OUr successes

So far we have achieved a lot in a very short period of time.

74 state and national organizations have joined GDVP GA DISABILITIES VOTE PARTNERSHIP. Almost every type of disability group is represented in the partnership.

 We have:

  • supported multiple indigenous groups in increasing tribal efforts for getting out the vote. See this article in the New York Times on Native Americans mobilizing Georgia.
  • identified 15 individuals in Meriwether county who need aid in getting to the polls.
  • linked 10 counties with Indigenous supports to transportation partnering with Principal Chief Vonnie Mccormick.
  • coordinated with 15 Grass Roots Connectors in South GA to provide vans, gas, transport in lift equipped vans for early voting and Election day
  • started working with Mia Ives-Rublee, Asian Disabilities expert in GOTV
  • created phone banks, text banks, and ASL outreach
  • taken BLM seriously: people of color with Disabilities lead this coalition
  • raised $1000 already for phone banks and transportation
  • created this website
  • Meetings weekly ASL Interpreters of color, CART by BIPOC, and Visual Description by people of color with Disabilities.
  • Large Print available and Braille on demand.
